I am passionate about helping youth and their families function well together.  In my experience the right supports and/or program can help a family to accomplish this goal.  As an educational consultant, I enjoy helping families find the right program for their child/adolescent and supporting them in their journey toward healing as a family.  I am a licensed clinical social worker who has been practicing social work for more than 10 years.  I am a proud alumna of the University of Missouri-Columbia’s School of Social Work (Go Tigers!).  I have worked with juvenile and adult offenders  as an employee of the Missouri Department of Mental Health at their maximum security mental health facility, as a Juvenile Justice Liaison and Case Manager for Community Mental Health Center, and as a specialized probation officer.  For one and a half years I worked as a member of a 24 hour a day crisis team for children and adolescents with mental health needs determining if they needed hospitalization, providing crisis intervention, and short term counseling. I am also a therapist, serving individuals, families, and couples through a social service agency in McLean County in addition to being an Educational Consultant.  I am very familiar with state funding sources as well as private pay programs. Based in the Bloomington area,   I am available to work with families in Central Illinois and the surrounding states.  I am comfortable using technology, such as Skype, to help make a large region more personal and accessible.
